The employer is a leading provider of premium equipment solutions in New Zealand, supplying the construction industry with high-quality machinery and services. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Professional to join their team based in either Central Otago or Southland. This role offers the opportunity to drive sales growth, build strong customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service to their valued clients.

You could be based anywhere in Southland and so the flexibility in there for the taking. Whether you wish to be based in the beautiful mountainous Queenstown or stunning Cromwell or prefer the South Island's southeast coast -the option is yours, whether you are currently living on the South island or living in a city in the North Island and tired of the daily rat race and have the desire to have more work-life balance then this role could tick all your boxes.

Responsibilities within the role

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base within the Southland region
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients, providing exceptional customer service
  • Present and demonstrate equipment solutions to clients, tailoring proposals to meet their specific needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and product knowledge to provide informed recommendations

Requirements for this role

  • Proven sales experience in the equipment or related industry is highly desirable
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Positive attitude - a go getter that does not need to be told what to do and can work autonomously
  • A valid and clean driver's license is required
  • The ability to travel 2-3 nights per week for customer visits

Day-to-day duties:

As a Territory Sales Manager for construction equipment you will be responsible for driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service to their clients and growing their market share in Southland.
