We are seeking a Workshop Manager with extensive experience in the collision repair industry to join a well-established automotive repair shop located in Gisborne.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing estimates for insurance companies and private customers, organizing workflow, conducting quality controls on vehicles, and providing excellent customer service. The Workshop Manager will play a crucial role working closely with the owner in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment while constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement.

Duties within the role

  • Write estimates for insurance companies and private customers
  • Organize workflow and maintain a productive team environment
  • Liase with customers, workshop staff and suppliers
  • Conduct quality controls on vehicles before customer collection
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude
  • Order replacement parts and inspect them upon receipt
  • Strive for continuous improvement in processes and skills
  • Maintain a sense of humor and positive attitude

Qualifications, experience and qualities required for the role

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the collision industry, with specific experience in New Zealand
  • Proven ability to manage workflow and team dynamics
  • The ability to work well in a team and having the ability to motivate and drive the team
  • Experience with I-Bodyshop and prior management experience highly advantageous
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with clients
  • Experience in ordering replacement parts and conducting quality controls
  • Experience with commercial vehicles such as diggers, agricultural equipment is not necessary not would be a bonus
  • Desire to constantly improve processes and skills
